  • Sex: More in males, except on scalp, where females overtake them

  • Site: Scalp>(more than)beard>moustache>extremities

Hair Care  Tips

  1. Use antidandruff shampoo only if you have severe dandruff. Otherwise normal mild shampoo washing every alternate day will do

  2. Oil is not necessary for normal hair, as sebum secretes sufficient amounts

  3. People with dry hair should not use shampoo more than weekly once. Hair creams or oil may be used in such cases

  4. Do not use clips and plaids very tightly.

  5. Before using any dye, test behind the ears, wash off after 2 hours and wait for 2 days to watch out for any allergies

  6. Henna applications are not always innocent. It may contain cheap dyes, and hence the possibility of contact allergic dermatitis

  7. For those who go out daily, hair wash should be done daily

  8. Eat a nutritious, well balanced diet to keep your hair healthy, smooth and velvety

  9. Avoid frequent straightening or perming procedures as these may weaken the shaft of the hair and cause breakage and hair fall.
